The Motorist Package is a Victorian Government initiative introduced in mid-August 2022 to ease the financial burden of getting a licence. To qualify, drivers must: - Have held a Victorian licence for at least 39 months and 1 day - Have **no demerit points** or serious driving offences in the 3-year period ending 3 months before their licence expires This discount applies to car, motorcycle, and heavy vehicle licence holders. ### Free Licence Scheme for Young Drivers Probationary drivers under the age of 25 may be eligible for a **free 3-year full driver licence** if they: - Have completed a full 4-year Victorian probationary period - Are under 25 years old when their probationary licence expires - Have a clean driving record with **no traffic-related offences** during their probationary period This includes avoiding offences such as: - Speeding - Drink or drug driving - Demerit point infractions - Seatbelt violations - Hit-and-run or accident-related offences - Reckless or dangerous driving VicRoads will send an application form by mail, so drivers must ensure their **myVicRoads** account is updated with a correct address. ### Encouraging Safer Roads These initiatives reflect Victoria's broader effort to improve road safety and reduce accidents by rewarding responsible behaviour.
