In an unexpected sighting, a MEVCO-customized Rivian R1T electric vehicle, designed for mining operations, has been observed in Perth's Osborne Park area. 

The vehicle, part of a recently announced partnership between [MEVCO](https://mevco.com/?ref=carexplore.com.au) (Mining Electric Vehicle Company) and [Rivian Automotive](https://rivian.com/?ref=carexplore.com.au), was spotted by Dev Raga, an EV enthusiast visiting from Melbourne. Raga, who was in Perth for a conference, stumbled upon the vehicle during a routine walk. 

> "I have been following lucid and Rivian for ages, so it caught my eye" - Raga reported. 

This sighting comes just months after MEVCO and Rivian announced their exclusive global partnership in April 2024\. The collaboration aims to provide electric light vehicles specifically tailored for the mining, mining services, and mining equipment industries.

It has been debated heavily about how the Rivian v Tesla would compete head-t0-head, but it is a battle we may not see anytime soon, considering the Non-Disclosure Agreements around the use of the vehicles, it would be a heavily guarded vehicle not to be tested in the public domain, similar with the Rivian v Lucid.
