# NSW Expands EV Locations For Drivers

Electric vehicle drivers in [New South Wales](https://www.carexplore.com.au/tag/new-south-wales/) will soon have access to an additional 549 kerbside chargers across 130 suburbs. This is supported by a $2.8 million investment from the Minns Labor Government.

### Purpose of the Expansion

The new chargers are designed to make EV charging more accessible for residents without off-street parking, such as those living in apartments and high-density housing areas. This supports NSW’s legislated net zero emissions targets and helps lower household transport costs.

### Funding and Partners

The $2.8 million in EV Kerbside Charging Grants have been allocated to five recipients: Charge Post, Connected Kerb, EVX, Plus ES, and EF Asset Management. These companies will contribute an additional $2.2 million in private investment to install the chargers.

Chargers will be rolled out across 22 Local Government Areas:

- City of Parramatta: 70
- Inner West: 47
- City of Sydney: 48
- Bayside: 37
- Northern Beaches: 66
- Newcastle City: 48
- Ryde City: 42
- Ku-ring-gai: 25
- Penrith City: 14
- Hunter's Hill: 26
- Strathfield: 24
- Hornsby Shire: 22
- The Hills Shire: 10
- Cumberland: 9
- Willoughby City: 18
- Woollahra: 9
- Wollongong City: 12
- Randwick City: 7
- Waverley: 7
- Lane Cove: 2
- Shellharbour: 4
- Sutherland Shire: 2

### Charger Specifications

The installations will include chargers from 7kW to 22kW, with a mix of pole-mounted and pedestal units. They will be located on kerbsides and in public council car parks over the next 12 months.
