From **Friday 18 April to Monday 21 April**, all train services on the **Gold Coast and Beenleigh lines** will be suspended between Varsity Lakes and Boggo Road. During this time, **rail buses** will operate, offering both express and all-stops options to help commuters reach their destinations.

### Why the Closures Are Happening

The temporary closures are part of ongoing efforts to transform South East Queensland’s rail network, including work led by the **Cross River Rail Delivery Authority**. Multiple project crews have coordinated to perform essential upgrades efficiently across the same period, reducing long-term disruptions.

#### Cross River Rail Support Works:

- **Yeerongpilly, Salisbury, Dutton Park and Clapham Yard:**
  - Installation of concrete, formwork, and structural steel
  - Drainage improvements and earthworks

#### Gold Coast Line Expansion:

- **Pimpama, Hope Island and Merrimac Stations:**
  - Excavation and foundation work
  - Concrete pours and installation of steel modules for new station platforms
