## Car Park Milestone

The milestone was marked by the opening of a new car park at Watergardens Station in Melbourne's north-west. The Watergardens facility includes:

- 485 new car parking spaces
- 26 accessible parking spaces
- 70 new bicycle spaces
- A secure Parkiteer cage for 26 bicycles

This upgrade is aimed at easing street congestion and improving access to public transport in the local area.

## Program Overview

The upgrades have been delivered under the Allan Labor Government’s **Car Parks for Commuters** program, with support from:

- Australian Government
- Local councils

To date, the program has delivered car parks at 51 train stations across both metropolitan and regional areas of Victoria.

## Key Deliverables

Some of the key upgrades under the program include:

- 750 new spaces at Pakenham and East Pakenham
- 500 new spaces and an eight-bay bus interchange at Tarneit
- 500 new car parks at Frankston

Additional infrastructure delivered includes:

- 390 accessible parking spaces
- 15 secure Parkiteer bicycle cages
- Over 700 bicycle hoops
- 2 new bus interchanges
- Upgrades to CCTV and lighting systems

These upgrades are intended to improve safety, access, and convenience for commuters using the Victorian public transport network.
