Victoria has published its September list of approved locations for mobile digital road safety cameras, covering about 2,000 locations where cameras can operate.

The list is not a live tracker. Victoria says mobile digital cameras can operate in unmarked vehicles and roadside trailers at approved locations, at any time.

What the September update means

The September 2026 approved-location list was updated on 1 September. It reflects locations where Victoria Police may operate the state’s mobile camera program.

Mobile trailers are part of the program

Victoria says its camera trailers use the same technology and site-selection rules as vehicle-based mobile cameras. They can be used where a camera vehicle cannot operate, for longer periods and around the clock.

How the cameras work

Mobile digital road safety cameras use radar to measure vehicle speed and direction. The state says they can monitor more than six lanes, detect traffic in both directions and identify multiple vehicles at once.
